Due to forecasted inclement weather tomorrow, Saturday, many events are cancelled or postponed.

Legion Breakfast is still going ahead, but the Farmers' Market in cancelled and the North Brookfield Yard Sale and BBQ is postponed until Sep. 11.

HEALTH & WELLNESS PROJECT FUNDING

As part of its Vision and overall Goals, the QUEENS COMMUNITY HEALTH BOARD is interested in encouraging and fostering community organizations and activities that promote healthy lifestyle choices in Queens County. The QCHB has access to Community Wellness Grant Funding that is to be used to support important wellness projects that are designed to improve the overall health of the citizens of Queens County.

Let us know what your group or organization is planning and perhaps the QCHB can assist or partner with you to make positive changes in our Community.

National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) - Introduction to Competition, Level A

Friday, October 22, 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Saturday, October 23, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
Sunday, October 24, 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm

Location: Liverpool Lions Club Hall

If you would like to be a sports coach, this course will start you on your way! Course is made up of the following components Making Ethical Decisions, Planning a Practice, and Nutrition.

Please note: Pre-requisite for courses – you must be 16 years of age prior to or on the date of the course. REMINDER – courses fill up quickly and are based on first come first serve.

New: Multi-sport courses held on demand. Check with the course administrator and/or your municipal recreation department for your region to get on a waiting list.

Group Fitness Classes - September 13 to November 3 at the Dr. John C. Wickwire School Gym from 6:30 -7:30 pm. Monday nights is Cardio Kick and Wednesday nights is Interval Fitness taught by Jo-Anne Lenethen. To register and for more information call the Recreation Department at 354-5741.

Fall Outdoor Boot Camp

September 14th to November 2 at the Seaside Recreation and Community Centre from 5:30 – 6:30, on Tuesday nights with instructor Lisa Avramenko. To register and for more information call the Recreation Department at 354-5741.

The Region of Queens Recreation Dept is accepting requests for both regular (October 11th and after) and early season (until October 11th) ice time. Please contact the Recreation Dept. for more information.
